Prevest Research Institute have furnaces for different purposes such as calcinations, sintering and melting, casting and other heat treatments of cements, ceramics, and glassy compositions. One such furnace is a raising hearth furnace which can go upto 1700 Deg C. This furnace is having its opening at the bottom only, closable by vertically moving Hearth raising the job into the heating cavity by manual mechanical means. This is good to eliminate hazards of top open Pit type furnace.
